a. “…now, do not be distressed and do not be angry with yourselves for selling me here, because it was to save lives that God sent me ahead of you.” Genesis 45:5
“But God sent me ahead of you to preserve for you a remnant on earth and to save your lives by a great deliverance. So then, it was not you who sent me here, but God.” Genesis 45:7-8
“I will provide for you there, because five years of famine are still to come. Otherwise you and your household and all who belong to you will become destitute.” Genesis 45:11
b. Joseph threw his arms around Benjamin. He kissed all his brothers and wept over them. Afterward, they talked together.
16. Just tonight, my dad and I were talking about some of our family members who have harbored unforgiveness about situations that occurred many years ago. We are both at a loss in all three.
A picture the Lord showed me about forgiveness: Forgiveness is like a gift, wrapped in beautiful paper with a big bow. We hold it out in front of us. It is up to the other person to reach out their own hands, take the gift and open it.
As much as it depends on you – you took the offense out of your own heart and offered it.
That’s all you can do sometimes.
17. Don’t let the immaturity and arrogance of others get to me. It can make you do crazy things. It’s good to take part in God’s plans, but I don’t want to play that role!
