BSF Matthew Lesson 4 Day 5

8.  a.

Isaiah 9:1-2– Matthew’s gospel points out that Jesus fulfills this prophecy by withdrawing to Galilee in the area of Zebulun and Naphtali. Jesus is later called the light of the world.

Isaiah 11:1-3– Jesus is descended from the lineage of Jesse; The Spirit of the Lord did rest on Him for all to see after John baptized Him; Jesus does display all of the spiritual gifts mentioned.

b.  That same Holy Spirit has baptized and filled me. I choose to delight myself in the Lord and live by His words and what He shows me.

9.  a. The first disciples Jesus called followed Him immediately.

b. Jesus promised to send them out to fish for men.

c. I have seen some saved and seen some healed. I plan to continue fishing.

10.  a. Jesus’ message was to repent, and He shared the good news that the kingdom of heaven had come near.”

b. Jesus demonstrated the power of the kingdom by performing signs, wonders, and miracles.

c.  The good news Jesus taught was that God sent Him—God’s only son—in the power of the Holy Spirit, to be the savior of the world by His death and resurrection.

11.  a. Jesus demonstrated God had not forgotten His people. He loved and cared about making them whole and free in mind, body, and spirit.

b.  The kingdom of heaven arrived 2000+ years ago. Jesus didn’t take it with Him when He ascended. He is the same yesterday, today and forever. He left us with the same Holy Spirit power that raised Him from the dead. As His disciples, we are to continue to heal the sick, raise the dead, open the eyes of the blind, and make more disciples until the day of His return.

Even so come, Lord Jesus!
