John Lesson 10 Day 2 ~ John 6:41-42
3- “Isn’t this Jesus, the son of Joseph?”
This is how Jesus the Messiah was born.
His mother, Mary, was engaged to be married to Joseph.
But before the marriage took place, while she was still a virgin, she became pregnant through the power of the Holy Spirit.
An angel appeared to Joseph and said “the child within her was conceived by the Holy Spirit. And she will have a son, and you are to name him Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.”
This fulfilled a prophecy in Isaiah 7:14.
John the Baptist prophesied when he “saw Jesus coming to him and said, “Look! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!” ….”I didn’t know he was the one, but when God sent me to baptize with water, he told me, ‘The one on whom you see the Spirit descend and rest is the one who will baptize with the Holy Spirit.’ I saw this happen to Jesus, so I testify that he is the Chosen One of God.” (NLT)
When the Jews demanded an attesting miracle to prove His authority, Jesus replied “All right, “Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.”
…”During the time he was in Jerusalem, those days of the Passover Feast, many people noticed the signs he was displaying and, seeing they pointed straight to God, entrusted their lives to him.”
Jesus healed a boy by sending His word: “Go back home. Your son will live!”
Jesus fed 5,000 families with a boys lunch with twelve large baskets of leftovers from the barley loaves.
4- Jesus is the only way to salvation.
“Jesus said to him, “I am the [only] Way [to God] and the [real] Truth and the [real] Life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.” John 14:6 AMP
“by this new and living way which He initiated and opened for us through the veil [as in the Holy of Holies], that is, through His flesh,” Hebrews 10:20 AMP
“So, friends, we can now—without hesitation—walk right up to God, into “the Holy Place.” Jesus has cleared the way by the blood of his sacrifice, acting as our priest before God. The “curtain” into God’s presence is his body.” Hebrews 10:20-21 MSG
“Christ brought us together through his death on the cross. The Cross got us to embrace, and that was the end of the hostility. Christ came and preached peace to you outsiders and peace to us insiders. He treated us as equals, and so made us equals. Through him we both share the same Spirit and have equal access to the Father.” Ephesians 2:16-18 MSG
Many religions acknowledge Jesus as a prophet or a holy man. Some of the Jews called Him a rabbi or one of the prophets.
There will be a day of judgment for everyone. Only the sinless Son of God could take away our sin and give us righteousness. That’s why He is the only way to the Father and eternal life.
Other religions teach some version of works. None has a Savior. Jesus’ fulfillment of 353 prophecies and many signs and wonders attest that He is the Son of God as He said.
