John Lesson 14 Day 5 Day 6 ~ John 10:22-42

11. Jesus’ actions speak louder than words.

Greek NASB Number: 2041 ἔργον — list of English words used in translation:

deed or deeds,
work or works.
New American Standard Exhaustive Concordance of the Bible

Those who don’t believe Jesus is the Messiah, don’t believe because they aren’t his sheep. (MSG)

“One of the distinctions that separate the sheep from the goats is their ability to believe. We receive God’s faith at salvation.” Andrew Wommack

“God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God.” Ephesians 2:8 (NLT)

“Because of the privilege and authority God has given me, I give each of you this warning: Don’t think you are better than you really are. Be honest in your evaluation of yourselves, measuring yourselves by the faith God has given us.” Romans 12:3 (NLT)

12. Jesus gives his sheep real and eternal life.

His sheep will never perish (be destroyed or be punished in hell) because they hear his voice and obediently follow him.

I received salvation when I was five. I don’t know how people cope with and navigate life’s challenges without Jesus. He is my source of direction, wisdom, companionship, comfort, hope, and so much more.

13. The Jews picked up stones again to stone him.

Because Jesus said, “I and the Father are one”, they wanted to stone him—and for the same thing as before—blasphemy. (John 8:58, 59)

Jesus pointed them to his miraculous works—He healed the sick, delivered those who were possessed with demons, he fed large crowds poor people, and taught wherever he went.

Again they tried to arrest him, but he again he miraculously escaped.

Day 6

Thank you for calling me by name. Thank you for being our good shepherd.

Lord, you are my shepherd;
    I have all that I need.
You let me rest in green meadows;
    You lead me beside peaceful streams.
You renew my strength.
You guide me along the right paths,
    bringing honor to your name.
Even when I walk
    through the darkest valley,
I will not be afraid,
    for you are close beside me.
Your rod and your staff
    protect and comfort me.
You prepare a feast for me
    in the presence of my enemies.
You honor me by anointing my head with oil.
    My cup overflows with blessings.
Surely your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me
    all the days of my life,
and I will live in the house of the Lord forever.
