5. John 16:13-15 Spirit of Truth
Jesus promised that the Holy Spirit would later help make sense out of what is about to happen. During his time on earth, he fulfilled many scriptures, but the disciples didn’t realize it until after Jesus ascended. (See John 12:16 below.) John Lesson 22 Day 3
The Holy Spirit will also show us things to come. If we listen and receive this ministry of the Holy Spirit, it will change our lives. We can avoid many problems and take advantage of opportunities that we might otherwise miss. (Andrew Wommack)
“The Father is sending a great Helper, the Holy Spirit, in My name to teach you everything and to remind you of all I have said to you.” (Voice)
“The disciples didn’t notice the fulfillment of many Scriptures at the time, but after Jesus was glorified, they remembered that what was written about him matched what was done to him.” (MSG)
The prophets who spoke of this outpouring of grace upon you diligently searched and inquired of the Lord about this salvation: 11 to whom and to what time was the indwelling Spirit of the Anointed referring when He told them about the suffering of the Anointed and the honor that would follow it? 12 The Spirit revealed to them they were not serving themselves but you. And you have learned from those who told you the good news by the Spirit that was sent down from heaven. Even the heavenly messengers would like to explore this news. (Voice)
6. What do you learn from verses 13-15 about how the HS brings glory to the Lord Jesus?
The Holy Spirit doesn’t speak his own words; He speaks what he hears, revealing the things to come and bringing glory to Jesus. (Voice)
7. The Spirit has unlimited access to Jesus.
And to all that Jesus possesses and knows, just as everything the Father has is his.
For that reason, Jesus is confident that the Holy Spirit will take good care of his own by revealing to us everything he (Jesus) gives him to share with us.
The Spirit of truth will come and guide you into all truth. (Voice)
My husband habitually adds, “and lead us into all truth” when he prays before our meals.
Since he started that, I’m more aware of how much I need it. In EVERY area of my life.
To lead me, guide me, and empower me physically, spiritually, mentally and emotionally.
- Family members
- Understanding of the scriptures
- Fruit of the Spirit
The list could go on and on.
Most importantly, I’ve noticed how many lies I believe about God, myself, other people, and circumstances.
- I’m too old to make a difference.
- It’s hopeless.
- This situation will never change.
- I cannot be joyful until this situation changes.
- My past defines my future.
- As a woman, I can’t expect to be taken seriously or change the world.
- I’m not smart enough, technically savvy enough, organized enough, focused enough, or prosperous enough to do what God has called me to do.
