3. a. Exodus 25:8 & Exodus 33:3 suggest Moses moved the tent of meeting
outside the camp because God was no longer willing to live among them.
b. Evidence the people were repentant—All the people stood at attention and watched as Moses went into the tent of meeting. The cloud pillar would come down at the tent’s entrance. When the people saw this, they stood and worshiped.
4. a. Exodus 33:11 which says “The Lord spoke with Moses face to face,
just as a man speaks with his friend”, must have been a figure of speech meaning God spoke directly to Moses. In Exodus 33:20 and Exodus 33:23
, God says, “You cannot see My face, for no one can see Me and live.”
b. God desires to speak to us in an even better way
through the indwelling of His Spirit according to 2 Corinthians 3:7-11
. The old way brought condemnation (vs. 9). “So if the old way, which has been replaced, was glorious, how much more glorious is the new, which remains forever!” (vs. 11) We lack the full revelation of what we have in Christ.
The Lord talked to Moses face to face (Exodus 33:11). Yet Scripture teaches us that what we have in Christ makes what Moses had pale in comparison (2 Corinthians 3:7-11). If we are least in the kingdom of heaven, we are greater than Moses (Matthew 11:11). Obviously, we don’t have a full revelation of what we have in Christ. Andrew Wommack’s Living Commentary.
