Revelation Lesson 10 Day 3 Lamb

Rev 5 The Lamb

6.  a.  The Lamb, Christ Jesus, was the only one worthy to open the seals of the scroll.

Rev 5 : 6 And there between the throne (with the four living creatures) and among the elders~

  • I saw a Lamb (Christ) standing (tall), [bearing scars and wounds] as though it had been slain,
  • with seven horns (complete power)
  • and with seven eyes (complete knowledge),
  • which are the seven Spirits of God who have been sent [on duty] into all the earth. AMP

b.  The Lamb looked as if it had been slaughtered.

The Greek word (arnion) translated lamb used in Revelation is only used one other place in the New Testament, John 21:15. Jesus said to Peter, “Feed my lambs.”

This term suggests an endearing relationship. Christ is the precious Lamb, we His little, delicate or dear lambs, one with Him.2 & 6 (emphasis added)

A lamb represents innocence. They were often offered in sacrifice under the First Covenant.5

John 1:29 Jesus, God’s Passover Lamb. “Look! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!”

1 Corinthians 5:7  The Messiah, our Passover Lamb, has already been sacrificed for the Passover meal, and we are the Unraised Bread part of the Feast. MSG

1 Peter 1:18-20

Your life is a journey you must travel with a deep consciousness of God. It cost God plenty to get you out of that dead-end, empty-headed life you grew up in. He paid with Christ’s sacred blood, you know. He died like an unblemished, sacrificial lamb. And this was no afterthought. Even though it has only lately—at the end of the ages—become public knowledge, God always knew he was going to do this for you. It’s because of this sacrificed Messiah, whom God then raised from the dead and glorified, that you trust God, that you know you have a future in God. MSG

How can I adequately say thanks for all God the Father, Jesus the Son, and the Holy Spirit have done and are doing on my behalf? How often am I oblivious to His love, favor, protection, forgiveness, and blessings?

7.  a.  The Lamb stood before the Throne.

Christ stands in the center between God’s throne (with the four living creatures) and among the elders.

Christ stands as Mediator between God and all people.

The Lion who appears as a Lamb took the scroll from the One who sits on the throne demonstrating that He has been given all authority.

As Jesus said in Matthew 28:18, “All authority (all power of absolute rule) in heaven and on earth has been given to Me.”

b.  The number seven symbolizes completeness and perfection.

The Seven Horns symbolize complete and perfected power and authority.

The Seven Eyes symbolize complete, perfected, all-watchful wisdom and knowledge representing…

The Seven Spirits of God who have been sent forth [on duty] into all the earth.
