12. Hearing doesn’t ensure understanding which doesn’t ensure believing.

Psalm 19:4

Their voice goes out through all the earth,
    and their words to the end of the world.
In them he has set a tent for the sun, (ESV)

“There is not a part of the promised land in which these glad tidings have not been preached; and there is scarcely a place in the Roman empire in which the doctrine of Christ crucified has not been heard: if, therefore, the Jews have not believed, the fault is entirely their own; as God has amply furnished them with the means of faith of salvation.” (Clarke)

13. Paul quotes Moses and Isaiah who spoke God’s warnings to Israel.

God’s words to Israel in Deuteronomy 32:21

They have provoked My jealousy
with their so-called gods;
they have enraged Me with their worthless idols.
So I will provoke their jealousy
with an inferior people;
I will enrage them with a foolish nation. (ESV)

Isaiah 65:1-2

I was ready to be sought by those who did not ask for me;
    I was ready to be found by those who did not seek me.
I said, “Here I am, here I am,”
    to a nation that was not called by my name.
I spread out my hands all the day
    to a rebellious people,
who walk in a way that is not good,
    following their own devices; (ESV)

This tells God’s assessment of disobedient, Messiah-rejecting Israel. They are a disobedient and contrary people, and all the more so because of their great responsibility before God. (Guzik)

14. God meant it for good.

The first part of the question hit a nerve, and I’ve rewritten my response over and over. Every time, it just turned into a confession/ramble. I left some of it because perhaps someone else has the same reaction.

God meant it for good is a positive confession on my part because I’m still wondering and asking, “Lord, how do You want to use this (where I live) for my destiny?” Or “do I feel this way (I don’t feel like I belong here) because I missed my destiny way back when?”

As much as I’ve hoped, prayed, and tried to move, “Is it high time I realize You put me here?”
