Questions for this lesson

8. Gentiles are Non-Jews.

The Jews being God’s chosen considered themselves sole possessors of the Law and the promises, so they looked down on Gentiles as rejected by God.

Romans 2:17, 23, 25

9. God is One.

Many people today hold the same belief as Eric Melwani a former Hindu.

“My viewpoint was there’s one God, but he has many names, and many forms. So to me, Jesus was a god, Buddha was a god, Krishna was a god.”

Buddhism and Hinduism are the in thing. Statues of Buddha are popular decor for homes and gardens. High profile business owners and celebrities promote the practice of Hindu-based yoga and Buddhism meditation practices.

Other religious practices may allow you to acknowledge a variety of gods, but Christianity embraces Jesus as the ONLY way.

Jesus said, “I am the Road, also the Truth, also the Life. No one gets to the Father apart from me. If you really knew me, you would know my Father as well. From now on, you do know him. You’ve even seen him!” John 14:6 MSG

10. There is only one God & His Son Jesus is the only door.

Other religions and philosophies claim that all roads lead to God, but their contradictory beliefs cannot be reconciled.

God cannot at the same time be both impersonal and personal, both singular and triune, both finite and infinite, both knowable and unknowable. There is no way to reconcile the various worldviews, such as pantheism, monotheism, and polytheism. Therefore, logically, either none of them—or only one—is true! The real issue is Truth, an issue of infinite importance. Crossway.org

God loved the world this much—

This is how much God loved the world: He gave his Son, his one and only Son. And this is why: so that no one need be destroyed; by believing in him, anyone can have a whole and lasting life. God didn’t go to all the trouble of sending his Son merely to point an accusing finger, telling the world how bad it was. He came to help, to put the world right again. Anyone who trusts in him is acquitted; anyone who refuses to trust him has long since been under the death sentence without knowing it. And why? Because of that person’s failure to believe in the one-of-a-kind Son of God when introduced to him. John 3:16-18 MSG
